Description: | This is a free festival featuring 18 choirs from Milton Keynes and beyond. Choirs include: The Birmingham Town Hall Gospel Choir; Pop Chorus (from Suffolk); Polymnia; MK Acapella; MK Youth Choir; Milton Keynes Community Choir; Chanteuses; Hart and Soul Community Choir and many more. The festival will also feature the first public performance 'A Hymn's Review?' of one of the ten songs from 'Forever?' a newly commissioned piece to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the hymn 'Amazing Grace' , written in 1773 by the Rev John Newton from nearby Olney. The score for 'Forever?' has been composed by leading baritone and composer Roderick Williams and the award-winning poet Rommi Smith has written the libretto. The song will be performed at 6pm by 250 voices. Entry to the parking field is at Gate 1 in Campbell Park. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from a number of food vendours in the amphitheatre. Alcohol will not be sold. |
